Overview:
Our internship program aims at giving students and young professionals an opportunity for practical work in the field of small business development. You will have close working relationships with top industry practitioners, participate in worthwhile undertakings and better comprehend obstacles and prospects that characterize the entrepreneurship landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and Analysis: Conduct research on emerging trends prevalent in SMEs, challenges faced by such enterprises, as well as possible opportunities available to them. This means analyzing data for decision support tools such as policy recommendations or program creation.
- Program Support: Assist with planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating activities designed to help grow small firms.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work together with stakeholders such as entrepreneurs themselves or agencies from governments so as to elicit their opinions about these entities.
- Communications: Assist in making reports; prepare presentations or social media content that highlights departmental initiatives leading to success of various firms.
- Administrative Tasks: Undertake general office tasks like organization meetings’ schedules filing documents responding inquiries etc.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Currently pursuing a degree program in Business Administration/ Economics/ Public Admin or any other related field plus recently achieved graduates can also enroll (or already hold degree) in any of the mentioned fields above.
- Good analytical skills.
- Excellent speaking/writing skills.
- Proficiency level in MS Office Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
- Ability to work both independently along with team members.
- Knowledgeable about current problems facing SMEs may be considered beneficial.
Requirements:
The applicant should avail him/herself for at least twenty hours every week until end of attachment period. Must have strong organizational skills including attention to details Previous experience in the field could be an added advantage though not mandatory. Strong passion for small scale business development and being proactive.
